INFRASTRUCTURE THIEVERY

It’s well know that we have an infrastructure problem in this country. Roads, airports, docks, railroads all need upkeep and long overdue maintenance. What is not so well known is that our infrastructure also is being stolen, ripped off, jacked, especially bridges.

You might wonder how a road or airport could be stolen. To be honest, it’s rare, but it happens. What goes missing most often are bridges. They are much easier to pick up and cart off in the dead of night.

After a slate of disappearing bridges, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission decided to take action and labelled each and every one of their bridge so they can be identified if found later. Brilliant! I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that these labels conceal a tracking device, too, so the DRJTBC can use “Find My Bridge” if one gets stolen or lost.
